Job summary

placeMe IT Recruitment is seeking a seasoned Full Stack Developer in Wellington, NZ to build and scale cloud-enabled platforms. You’ll work across web and mobile layers, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ship practical solutions that matter.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in web and cloud development, proficiency with Node.js/Express/TypeScript, React or Angular, and experience with REST APIs and distributed systems. Flexible work options and health and life insurance are offered.

• Node.js, Express, TypeScript (or love of learning them).
• Experience in AI-first software engineering, e.g., using AI coding assistants and AI agents (Claude Code).
• React or Angular experience.

You’ll join our Platform Team as a digital alchemist—part inventor, part engineer, all explorer. You'll collaborate on cutting-edge systems that blend cloud, mobile, firmware, electronics, optics, and measurement science (don't worry, we'll teach you the secret handshake).

Your Ideal Tech Toolkit

We don't expect perfection—just passion, curiosity, and a love for building. That said, if you bring some of this, you'll fit right in:

• 7+ years of experience in web & cloud development

• Node.js, Express, TypeScript (or a love of learning them)

• Experienced in AI-first software engineering, particularly using AI coding assistants and orchestrating AI agents (e.g., Claude Code).

• React or Angular experience

• REST APIs and distributed systems? Yes please.

• Bonus points: Azure DevOps, AWS, Docker, Linux
