Job summary

Dotmatics is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Front End to shape the architecture and development of a data-rich web application used by scientists worldwide. You will apply deep TypeScript and Angular expertise to build scalable, high-performance user experiences for complex scientific workflows.

The role is hybrid with the Auckland office, requiring 1–3 days in the office weekly. The candidate will collaborate across teams to deliver robust UI components and tooling for research workflows.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience building production-grade web applications.
• Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive the architecture of the Angular front end and establish reusable component libraries and standards.
• Own the UI end-to-end, write high-quality, well-tested code, and manage deployment and security as part of a DevSecOps team.
• Serve as a technical authority on front-end best practices, mentoring engineers and raising engineering standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues and customers to gather requirements and iterate on designs.
• Contribute to testing, documentation and support as part of a cross-functional team.
