Archway Recruitment in Wellington, New Zealand is partnering with a large organisation to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant. You will own the financial accounting function, manage statutory reporting, and work with international group entities.

You will lead monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, support audits, drive process improvements, and mentor junior staff within a busy finance team. A challenging, high-exposure role with clear career progression.

Qualifications

• CA qualification or equivalent professional accounting certification.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and reporting standards.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Managing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements.
• Preparing consolidated statutory financial statements and disclosures.
• Coordinating external audit activities through to completion.
• Supporting internal audit and compliance requirements.
• Providing technical accounting advice on new and complex transactions.
• Managing and reviewing financial controls and accounting policies.
• Assisting with board reporting and financial commentary.
• Supporting tax compliance including GST, FBT and transfer pricing.
• Completing group reporting obligations for offshore parent entities.
• Driving process improvement initiatives across finance systems and reporting.
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members.
