Senior External Reporting Assurance Lead

Job summary

BNZ is seeking a seasoned assurance professional to provide independent oversight over the Bank's financial and regulatory reporting. You will collaborate with Finance and senior stakeholders to assess risks, review reporting processes, and strengthen risk management practices across risk, controls, issues and events.

The role offers exposure to key decision-makers and an opportunity to influence external reporting integrity within BNZ's regulatory framework.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in external audit, internal audit, or assurance.
• Sound understanding of controls and risk in reporting environments.
• Experience communicating findings and influencing senior management.
• Chartered Accountant qualification such as CA ANZ, CPA, or equivalent.
• Experience in risk management within the financial services sector.

Responsibilities

• Lead assurance reviews over financial and regulatory reporting processes.
• Assess risks and controls and evaluate the accuracy, completeness and appropriateness of external reporting.
• Partner with Finance teams to strengthen risk management practices across risk, control, issue and event management activities.
• Support oversight of change initiatives and risk reporting.
• Build trusted relationships with stakeholders across Finance and the wider Bank, providing practical advice and guidance.
