Zusammenfassung

Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki is seeking an experienced Production Team Lead to steer the planning, coordination and delivery of an ambitious exhibitions programme and support collection care work with artwork handling and preparation.

Reporting to the Exhibitions Manager, lead a team of Gallery Technicians to deliver projects safely, on schedule and to museum standards, coordinating with Registration, Conservation and Photography as needed.

Qualifikationen

• At least five years’ practical experience in an art gallery or related environment, ideally coordinating technicians or art handlers.
• Proven experience in production planning, workforce allocation and project delivery.
• Technical expertise in artwork installation, handling, storage and exhibition production.
• Experience supervising contractors and coordinating multiple technical workstreams.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety, preventative conservation and museum standards.
• Excellent planning, communication, judgement and problem-solving skills.
• A current unrestricted New Zealand driver’s licence is required.

Aufgaben

• Oversee the forward production plan, assigning projects to the Senior Technicians and ensuring project requirements are met.
• Work closely with exhibition designers, curators, registrars, conservators, artists and contractors to turn concepts and technical plans into exhibitions.
• Oversee workshop operations, contractors, budgets, equipment and health and safety.
• Ensure the highest standards of artwork handling and preventative conservation are maintained.
• Facilitate the activities of the Registration, Conservation and Photography teams.
