Job summary

Northpower is seeking a hands-on major project estimator to influence how we shape, price and deliver significant projects. You’ll work at the front end with estimating, engineering, operations, commercial, procurement and leadership to build competitive, deliverable bids.

Take ownership from opportunity to tender submission, develop first-principles estimates across major construction, EPC and O&M opportunities, review drawings and conditions, and lead cost plans, cash flows and bid

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ estimating experience in construction, infrastructure, energy or major projects.
• Strong first-principles estimating experience across major construction, EPC, O&M or similar contracts.
• Knowledge of NZ contract forms (NZS 3910) and exposure to FIDIC/NEC is advantageous.
• Experience leading complex estimates and coordinating inputs across disciplines.
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to use pricing systems.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of estimates from opportunity through tender submission with diverse teams.
• Develop first-principles estimates, pricing models, cost plans and cash flows.
• Lead bid evaluations, risk/opportunity identification and exclusion management.
• Support bid strategy, governance, client and supplier engagement, and ensure buildable pricing.
• For larger opportunities, step into Bid Lead role and shape estimating processes.
