Senior Endpoint Specialist

About Us

At Datacom, we combine technology, expertise, and talented people to help organisations thrive in a rapidly changing world. As one of Australasia's leading technology providers, we work with customers across industries to solve real-world problems and deliver meaningful outcomes.

Whether we're supporting governments, enterprise organisations, or growing businesses, we're committed to creating meaningful outcomes for our customers, communities, and each other.

About the Role

As a Senior Endpoint Specialist, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, securing, and optimising modern endpoint management solutions for Datacom. Acting as a senior technical specialist, you will provide expertise across endpoint engineering, device management, endpoint security, automation, and modern workplace technologies.

You will work across Datacom’s internal environment, leading the implementation and support of enterprise endpoint solutions while providing technical leadership and guidance to project teams, operational teams, and Datacom staff. This role combines deep technical expertise with customer engagement, continuous improvement, and technical mentorship.

You will be responsible for helping Datacom modernise endpoint platforms, improve security posture, enhance user experience, and establish sustainable endpoint management practices that support both current and future business requirements.

Our offices are based across New Zealand, Australia and Philippians/Malaysia. We like to bring people together in person when we can, but we are mindful of the benefits of working from home for work/life balance. We therefore leave it to you and the team you join to figure out what works best.

What You'll Do

At the moment, as a Senior Endpoint Specialist, you will be focused on:

  • Designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise endpoint management solutions across Datacom’s environment.
  • Leading endpoint engineering activities across Windows 11, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, and modern device management platforms.
  • Developing and maintaining endpoint standards, operating system baselines, configuration policies, and endpoint governance frameworks.
  • Managing endpoint lifecycle activities including device provisioning, operating system deployment, feature updates, and hardware refresh programmes.
  • Implementing and supporting Windows Autopilot deployment and modern workplace onboarding solutions.
  • Managing device compliance, configuration management, and endpoint security controls in accordance with organisational and customer security requirements.
  • Creating and maintaining PowerShell scripts and automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and service delivery outcomes.
  • Packaging, deploying, and maintaining enterprise applications across managed endpoints.
  • Providing Tier 3 technical escalation support for complex endpoint, operating system, application, and device management issues.
  • Leading technical investigations, root cause analysis activities, and problem management initiatives.
  • Participating in technology evaluations, proof-of-concepts, testing, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
  • Supporting projects, migrations, deployments, and transformation programmes involving endpoint technologies.
  • Developing technical documentation, deployment standards, operational procedures, and architecture artefacts.
  • Working closely with Datacom teams to understand business requirements and translate them into practical endpoint solutions.
  • Acting as the technical SME and service owner for:
  • Meeting rooms and collaboration technologies.
  • Microsoft Teams Rooms, audiovisual, and video conferencing solutions.
  • Kiosk and shared-device platforms.
  • Executive and VIP technology support.
  • Online events, webinars, and presentations.
  • Enterprise printing services.
  • Providing strategic guidance and technical consultation on endpoint management, workspace modernisation, security, and automation technologies.
  • Contributing to endpoint roadmaps, technical strategy, service development, and innovation initiatives.
  • Mentoring engineers and sharing technical knowledge across Datacom teams.
  • Ensuring work is completed in accordance with service levels, security requirements, and change management processes.
  • Building effective relationships with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Promoting safe work practices and adhering to Datacom Health and Safety policies.

We are a pretty agile company and are keen to respond to technology, and internal stakeholders' changing requirements. This can mean we evolve in our roles to meet those needs.
