Job summary

Fabrum in Christchurch, New Zealand, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to deliver electrical engineering solutions across cryogenic and gas systems, from early specifications to project delivery.

This hands-on senior role combines technical problem-solving, risk management and team capability building in a multidisciplinary environment. You will guide design, safety compliance, and client collaboration to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years' hands-on electrical engineering experience in industry.
• Experience in manufacturing environments.
• Strong problem-solving and delivery capabilities.
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop pre-sales technical specifications with the sales team for systems covering production, liquefaction, storage, reticulation and dispensing of gases and cryogens.
• Carry out electrical engineering design, calculations, modelling, drawings and documentation to support manufacture and client requirements.
• Provide expert technical guidance to solve complex engineering problems and troubleshoot issues while maintaining high-quality delivery.
• Maintain engineering design and documentation control, and contribute to internal handbooks, SOPs, codes, standards and quality processes.
• Identify and manage engineering risks and hazards, including participation in hazard assessment studies and compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practice.
• Plan and oversee engineering deliverables, schedules, priorities and workloads to meet project timelines, budgets and quality requirements.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, suppliers, clients, contractors and internal stakeholders, while coaching and developing engineers within the team.
