Job summary

Fabrum, based in Christchurch, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to deliver high-quality electrical engineering solutions across cryogenic and gas systems from early specifications to project delivery. This hands-on role combines technical problem-solving, risk management, and team capability building in a multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years' industry experience in manufacturing environments.
• Electrical design, calculations, modelling, and documentation.
• Ability to solve complex technical issues with practical guidance.
• Understanding of risk, hazard identification, compliance and safety.

Responsibilities

• Develop pre-sales technical specifications with the sales team for systems covering the production, liquefaction, storage, reticulation and dispensing of gases and cryogens.
• Carry out electrical engineering design, calculations, modelling, drawings and documentation to support manufacture and client requirements.
• Provide expert technical guidance to solve complex engineering problems and troubleshoot issues while maintaining high-quality delivery.
• Maintain engineering design and documentation control, and contribute to internal handbooks, SOPs, codes, standards and quality processes.
• Identify and manage engineering risks and hazards, including participation in hazard assessment studies and compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practice.
• Plan and oversee engineering deliverables, schedules, priorities and workloads to meet project timelines, budgets and quality requirements.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, suppliers, clients, contractors and internal stakeholders, while coaching and developing engineers within the team.
