Job summary

Arup is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to lead design delivery for renewable energy projects, with a focus on solar farms in Auckland. You will drive grid connection design, protection, SCADA integration and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

You will mentor junior engineers, manage technical risk, and contribute to client relationships and business development while upholding Arup’s collaborative values.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • Significant renewable energy project delivery experience, especially solar farms.
  • Experience with grid connection, protection, and SCADA systems.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead projects within multidisciplinary teams.

Job description

The role will lead electrical design delivery for renewable energy developments, with a particular focus on solar farms. Responsibilities will include grid connection design and coordination, electrical balance of plant design, protection systems, SCADA and control systems integration, and technical leadership throughout project delivery. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, and network operators to deliver high-quality outcomes. The role also provides opportunities to mentor and develop junior engineers while contributing to the continued growth of our renewable energy capability.

We are looking for an experienced electrical engineer with a strong technical background in renewable energy projects and a collaborative approach to project delivery. Experience working within complex engineering environments is important. Previous experience with Arup systems is not required, as training will be provided. What is essential is adaptability, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to delivering excellent outcomes for our clients.
