Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Technician for a prominent engineering consultancy. The role offers a remote option within Queenstown, Eastern Cape, enabling collaboration with Electrical Engineers to produce detailed design drawings for buildings and infrastructure.

You will contribute to power distribution, lighting layouts, and low-voltage systems, ensure compliance with electrical standards, and manage project documentation while working independently in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as an Electrical Design Technician or Drafter.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP is essential.
• Solid understanding of electrical principles and design practices for building services.
• Familiarity with South African electrical standards and regulations.
• Good drafting skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage time in a remote setting.
• Experience with lighting design software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical design drawings, schematics, and layouts using CAD software.
• Assist in the design of power distribution systems, lighting layouts, and low-voltage systems.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent engineering consultancy firm specializing in infrastructure development, is seeking a skilled Senior Electrical Design Technician to join their team, with the option for a remote role within Queenstown, Eastern Cape. This position is critical for producing detailed electrical design drawings and documentation for a variety of projects, including commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and public infrastructure. You will work closely with Electrical Engineers to translate design concepts into constructible plans, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards. Key Responsibilities
