Job summary

Northpower in Auckland is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to mentor a team of design engineers and deliver high-quality design and pricing solutions across the electricity distribution network. This is a hands-on leadership role combining technical excellence with people leadership to ensure designs are fit for purpose, commercially sound, and delivered safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or Electrical Diploma required.
• 3+ years in electrical distribution design engineering or project management.
• NZ driver's licence.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical network design and pricing.
• Experience leading, mentoring, or coaching others.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Design Engineers.
• Review designs and quotations, provide technical guidance.
• Undertake complex connection designs and site visits.
• Engage with stakeholders to deliver projects safely and efficiently.
• Support continuous process improvement.
