Job summary

Seequent seeks a Senior Director of Technology Operations to lead secure, scalable infrastructure and platforms. You will drive reliability, cost objectives, and security with engineering, product, and security leaders across a global organization.

You will oversee shared cloud platforms, CI/CD tooling, observability, and AI/ML environments while shaping secure development practices and governance. This is an on-site Christchurch role requiring strong leadership and strategic partnership.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 10+ years of technology leadership experience in a global product organization.
• Proven experience building and operating shared technology platforms.
• Deep expertise in DevSecOps, secure platform engineering, IaC, and vulnerability management.
• Strong knowledge of reliability engineering, incident management, and metrics-driven improvement.
• Experience with security, privacy, compliance, and assurance programs in regulated environments.
• Executive-level stakeholder management and strong communication skills.
• Strong financial acumen with cloud spend forecasting and cost optimization.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the Technology Operations strategy aligning reliability, security, resilience, and cost objectives with business priorities.
• Lead development and operation of cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, developer tooling, observability, HPC, and AI/ML environments.
• Establish and oversee Seequent’s application security program and secure SDLC practices.
• Drive secure, reliable, and scalable build/deploy systems enabling fast software delivery.
• Define and monitor service reliability targets and manage incidents with continuous improvements.
• Own production and build infrastructure readiness, monitoring, access controls, and resilience planning.
• Collaborate with Information Security, Legal, and customer-facing teams on security/privacy/compliance.
• Lead FinOps and cloud spend optimization across SaaS and cloud services.
• Build and mentor a high-performing global Technology Operations organization.
