Job summary

Kidz First, Middlemore Hospital in Auckland, is seeking a Senior Medical Officer to advance developmental paediatrics. You will assess and manage children with developmental and behavioural needs within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to whānau-centred care.

Your role involves collaboration with community paediatricians and other health professionals to deliver evidence-based, high-quality care that supports families and improves outcomes for tamariki and rangatahi.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in the appropriate scope of practice.
• Relevant specialist paediatric qualifications and experience in developmental or community paediatrics.
• Commitment to evidence-based clinical practice, patient safety and continuous quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist clinical assessment and management for children with developmental and behavioural concerns.
• Contribute to developmental and disability clinics and multidisciplinary assessments.
• Collaborate with medical, nursing and allied health professionals to coordinate care.
• Offer clinical advice and support to community health services as appropriate to the role.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and promote equitable health outcomes for children and whānau.
• Build effective partnerships with whānau and community services to improve access to care.
