Qualifications

• Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (without conditions) as a specialist paediatrician, or eligibility for such registration.
• Current Annual Practising Certificate with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
• Significant experience in child protection paediatrics.
• A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and management of patients in inpatient/day patient/clinic settings and to collaborate in multi-disciplinary and multi‑agency processes central to effective child protection practice.
• Involve in provision of clinical care, teaching, research, administration, service delivery and professional development.
• Undertake 24/7 after-hours call and participate in statutory child protection processes (Gateway assessments).
• Collaborate with Oranga Tamariki and the Police in a multi-disciplinary team.
