Job summary

BNZ is seeking a Senior Developer for a 12-month fixed-term role based in Wellington. The position is hybrid with three days in office and two remote days, anchored on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

You will contribute to lending platform integrations, support ongoing modernisation, and ensure safe, reliable systems across BNZ. The ideal candidate has strong Java, Spring Boot and .Net experience, 7+ years in complex environments, and a passion for high-quality engineering practices in a dynamic banking

Qualifications

• 7+ years' experience in complex environments.
• Hands-on with Java, Spring Boot and .Net.
• Experience with API integration patterns and security fundamentals.
• Proficient with CI/CD tools and monitoring/observability.

Responsibilities

• Develop new features and support business-as-usual activities, including designing, coding, and implementing new functionality.
• Provide production support by monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues in live environments.
• Mentor and support fellow developers and testers through coaching and collaboration.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and continuous improvement activities.
• Contribute to quality assurance through code reviews and peer collaboration.
