Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking a seasoned Data Architect to design conceptual, logical and physical models and create dimensional structures for analytics on a modern cloud data platform.

You will collaborate with Data Engineers to ensure designs are understood and implemented, producing clear artefacts and reusable patterns while supporting governance, metadata, and data quality requirements across the platform.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in data modelling.
• Experience designing conceptual, logical and physical models.
• Strong dimensional modelling capability, including star schemas.
• Experience with modern cloud data platforms.
• Good understanding of Databricks and lakehouse architecture.
• Experience with Bronze / Silver / Gold or similar layered data architectures.
• Strong understanding of data integration and data flows.
• Experience working directly with Data Engineers and taking designs through to implementation.
• A pragmatic, delivery-focused approach to architecture.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

You’ll ideally bring:

Highly Desirable:

• dbt

• Previous experience across complex customer, digital or media data environments
