Serko, a cutting-edge tech platform in global business travel and expense technology, is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to shape and scale our modern data platform in Auckland. This high-impact role spans ingestion, transformation, orchestration and data quality to deliver reliable, secure data solutions that empower teams across the business.

You'll build scalable data pipelines with dbt, SQL, Python and PowerShell, collaborate with Architects, Platform, Security and other cross‑functional

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of data warehouse and data lake architectures.
• Experience working in an agile development environment with DevOps culture.
• Hands-on expertise with Snowflake and cloud data platforms.
• Strong SQL, dbt and Python skills; familiarity with PowerShell is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Architects and Principal Engineers to design scalable data solutions.
• Build, maintain, and optimise data pipelines across batch and streaming workloads.
• Coordinate with Platform, Architecture, and Security teams to ensure performance and security.
• Develop data models using dbt and orchestrate workflows across Azure and Google Cloud.
• Manage and enhance cloud data warehouses (Snowflake and BigQuery).
• Ensure data governance, cataloguing, observability and security best practices.
• Write clean code in dbt, SQL, Python, and PowerShell; improve existing SQL/PowerShell/Python scripts.
