Job summary

Westpac New Zealand Limited is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, develop and maintain high quality data solutions with a strong Java focus. You will drive scalable data platforms, data pipelines and APIs in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes cloud-based data warehousing with Snowflake, dbt and Python, along with Spark and Airflow for orchestration. Strong data modelling and modern data architecture knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience designing and building scalable data platforms.
• Strong SQL development with performance tuning and complex transformations.
• Experience with Snowflake cloud data warehouse and dbt for ELT workflows.
• Proficiency in Python for data engineering on cloud data platforms.
• Experience with Apache Spark for large-scale processing.
• Experience building, scheduling and orchestrating workflows with Airflow.
