Job summary

Datacom is seeking a Principal Consultant Data & Analytics in New Zealand. Lead delivery of robust Data Platform solutions, shaping client outcomes and driving pre-sales engagements.

This role requires strong communication with stakeholders, architecture leadership, and deep data platform expertise. You will design, implement, and own end-to-end data solutions, mentoring developers and collaborating with practice leads and client teams in a hybrid Wellington-based setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in computer science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8+ years’ experience in EDW design and implementation.
• Minimum 8+ years’ experience in ETL architecture and design.
• Minimum 8+ years’ experience in data modelling.
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in semantic layer development.
• Minimum 3+ years’ experience in Power BI architectures.
• Minimum 3+ years’ experience in pre-sales solutioning, commercial proposal development, and client solution presentations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with sales to shape proposals and solution designs during pre-sales engagements.
• Lead client presentations and solution walkthroughs to articulate value and differentiation.
• Identify opportunities for upselling and expanding service offerings within existing accounts.
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops to gather business requirements.
• Lead the technical architecture, design and delivery for new Modern Data Platform solutions.
• Provide thought leadership on data analytics and integration for clients.
