Datacom in New Zealand is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Consultant to lead high-impact engagements for key organisations, shaping their cybersecurity posture and aligning security outcomes to business strategy.

You will operate independently, earn trust quickly, and bring both strategic thinking and deep technical credibility to client conversations, while mentoring others and supporting a diverse portfolio across sectors.

Qualifications

• Extensive cybersecurity experience spanning governance, risk, technology and operations.
• Proven consulting experience with ability to work independently and earn client trust from day one.
• Deep knowledge of international frameworks (NIST CSF v2, NIST SP 800-53, ISO 27001/27002/27005, IEC 62443, PCI-DSS, SOC2) and ASD Essential 8.
• Strong familiarity with NZ NZS guidance including NZ PSR, NCSC standards, HISO 10029/HISF, NZ ISM, AU ISM and NZ Privacy Act 2020.
• Hands-on PCI-DSS experience including scoping and SAQ management.
• Ability to articulate how controls map to threats, vulnerabilities and business risk.

Responsabilités

• Lead consulting engagements end-to-end with high-quality outcomes on time and budget.
• Develop and present cybersecurity strategies and roadmaps tailored to each client's risk and maturity.
• Design and implement governance frameworks that are practical and sustainable.
• Conduct cybersecurity audits and assessments across domains and industries.
• Manage organizational and system-level risk and help clients prioritize actions.
• Build and test security programs including third-party/vender assurance and incident management.
• Develop policies and compliance programs that stick in the real world.
• Engage with senior leaders and specialists in workshops, written deliverables and one-on-one.
• Mentor colleagues through knowledge sharing and hands-on guidance.
