Job summary

RobLawMax Recruitment is seeking an experienced Contract Engineer to join a civil contractor delivering Three Waters and infrastructure projects on the West Coast and Grey District. You will own key utility service contracts, ensuring strong commercial performance and exceptional client service while coordinating with operational teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, negotiate, and administer Three Waters infrastructure contracts
• Lead the delivery and performance of key Three Waters utility contracts across water, wastewater and stormwater networks
• Manage the full contract lifecycle, including procurement, contract administration, KPIs, budgets, compliance, variations and commercial performance
• Coordinate the planning, delivery and commissioning of utility maintenance and infrastructure projects, ensuring milestones are achieved
• Monitor project costs, quality, safety, environmental performance and risk, implementing improvements where required
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, regulatory authorities and internal teams to deliver successful project outcomes
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, engineering standards, HSEQ requirements and contractual obligations
• Support asset management planning while driving operational efficiencies, innovation and continuous improvement
• Lead, mentor and develop operational teams, fostering a positive, high-performing and safety-focused culture
• Experience with NOC, IDC or similar collaborative contract models would be advantageous
