Job summary

AECOM in Wellington is seeking a Senior Civil Structural Engineer to lead the structural design from concept to detailed design on transport, water and infrastructure projects. You will mentor junior engineers, review calculations and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, compliant structures.

You'll contribute to proposals, manage design budgets and schedules, and represent the project with clients and stakeholders while upholding engineering quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• Strong experience from concept through detailed design and running packages of structural work.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and coordinate multidisciplinary deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Design civil/structural infrastructure including bridges, foundations, retaining walls and underground structures.
• Deliver structural designs for water-retaining facilities, reservoirs, tanks and wet wells.
• Lead a package of works to deliver structural design to quality, milestones and budget.
• Prepare and review structural calculations, reports, drawings and specs.
• Lead design reviews and QA to meet technical and program requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical engineering solutions.
• Contribute to proposals, project planning, budgets and delivery schedules.
• Support site inspections and coordinate design changes with construction teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and build strong client relationships.
