Job summary

AECOM Wellington seeks an experienced Site Civil Engineer to support Te Awa Kairangi (RiverLink), Wellington's largest live transport project. You will manage site inspections, QA, and coordination with contractors and design teams to deliver outcomes on time and to spec.

You will apply your civil construction expertise in a live environment, while also contributing to broader transport, water and civil projects across the region, with opportunities in project management and contract

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years experience in site engineering, construction supervision, site inspections and quality assurance on civil infrastructure projects.
• Sound understanding of construction methods, drawings/models, specifications and QA processes.
• Experience inspecting concrete, foundations, reinforcement, formwork and structural steel.
• Ability to identify construction issues, assess compliance and coordinate practical solutions with contractors and design teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Commitment to health, safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead site inspections, ensuring construction meets design, quality and safety standards.
• Inspect civil and structural works, including underground utilities, drainage, civil structures, retaining walls, buildings and foundations.
• Review ITPs, conduct pre-pour inspections and oversee quality documentation.
• Identify construction challenges and design coordination issues, collaborating with contractors and designers to develop practical solutions and maintain project progress.
• Coordinate with project managers, client, design and construction teams within the Alliance as well as key stakeholders and project partners to drive quality delivery.
• Assess design changes, resolve technical challenges and ensure works meet engineering requirements.
• Support and mentor junior engineers, championing best practice across site inspections.
• Promote a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement on site.
