Job summary

Maven is seeking an intermediate to senior Civil Engineer based in Matamata to lead civil design projects across land development and subdivisions. You will collaborate with councils, clients, and stakeholders, and provide mentoring while growing autonomy and technical leadership on projects.

The role emphasizes delivering technical reports and designs, strong problem solving, and supporting construction monitoring. NZ experience and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' New Zealand experience in civil engineering.
• BE (Civil) or equivalent.
• CPEng is desirable but not essential.
• Experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D.
• Good knowledge of NZ standards.
• Confident communicator with initiative and problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil design projects in land development and subdivisions (experience dependant).
• Work closely with councils, clients, and project stakeholders (experience dependant).
• Provide mentoring and technical guidance within the team (experience dependent).
• Manage project tasks with increasing autonomy.
• Prepare technical reports, designs, and specifications.
• Apply strong technical and problem-solving skills.
• Support construction monitoring and site observations.
