Job summary

Aon seeks a Senior Catastrophe Research Specialist to translate complex natural hazard data into practical risk insights across New Zealand, Australia and the APAC region. You’ll work with large spatial datasets, run geospatial analyses and deliver recommendations that help clients make informed decisions.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Natural Hazards, Geography, Earth Science, GIS or a related field.
• Strong geospatial analysis experience.
• Advanced SQL skills; Python knowledge advantageous.
• Strong communication to convey technical results to non-technical audiences.
• Strong project management and client engagement capabilities.
• Catastrophe modelling or insurance industry experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality data and analytics insights on natural hazards for clients across NZ, AU and APAC.
• Analyze large and complex spatial data and present actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with global Analytics, Risk Advisory and Broking colleagues to achieve client outcomes.
• Translate technical data into practical insights to support client decisions.
