SYOS, based in Mount Maunganui, Bay of Plenty, is seeking a Senior C++ Software Engineer to contribute to software powering autonomous vehicle systems. You’ll join a dynamic, collaborative team delivering cutting-edge robotics solutions.

Join a fast-growing global robotics and aerospace company developing uncrewed vehicles for air, land and sea. You will own projects across the full software lifecycle and directly impact product development.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of commercial C++ software development experience.
• Experience with robotics, aerospace, autonomous or real-time software desirable.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures and software design principles.
• Experience using Git or similar version control systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative approach.
• Experience with Python, ROS or embedded systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing or Docker.

Mansioni

• Design, develop and test software for autonomous vehicle systems.
• Write clean, efficient and maintainable C++ code following software engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, controls and other engineering teams to integrate software into our vehicles.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to a strong engineering culture.
• Debug, profile and optimise software for performance, reliability and maintainability.
• Contribute to structured Git repositories, build systems and development workflows.
• Take ownership of assigned software modules and projects.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, tools and industry practices.
