Job summary

Asmuss is seeking an accomplished Business Development Manager – Projects to lead the identification, development and capture of major pipeline opportunities across steel, flow control and infrastructure sectors in New Zealand.

Reporting to the Sales Manager – Water, you will shape win strategies, build influential relationships with contractors, councils, consultants and industry leaders, and steer bids from opportunity through to award.

Qualifications

• Proven business development and strategic sales experience within steel, flow control or related infrastructure markets.
• Track record of developing new revenue and achieving sales targets.
• Strong commercial judgement and negotiation capability.
• Confident engaging with senior customers and stakeholders.
• Experience interpreting project commercial terms and conditions.
• Ability to develop opportunities and navigate complex sales cycles.
• Strong communication, presentation and problem-solving skills.
• A full New Zealand driver licence.

Responsibilities

• Identifying and developing major project opportunities
• Creating and executing project capture and win strategies
• Building influential relationships with key industry stakeholders
• Leading bids, tenders, proposals and client presentations
• Managing selected strategic customer accounts
• Developing and maintaining a strong project pipeline
• Working across Sales, Estimating, Operations, Supply Chain, Category and Quality to deliver successful outcomes
• Monitoring market activity, competitors and emerging opportunities
