Natural Hazards Commission Toka TŨā Ake is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our Business Analysis and Process Design team on a fixed-term basis through to June 2027. Reporting to the Manager, Business Analysis and Process Design, you will lead complex discovery and analysis, translating evidence into practical recommendations, requirements and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Extensive senior BA experience across organisational change, service, process, policy, data or digital contexts.
• Ability to structure ambiguous information into clear insights.
• Strong problem-framing, facilitation and requirements engineering.
• Experience with senior stakeholders to test assumptions and outcomes.
• Experience taking initiatives from discovery to testing and implementation.
• Identify capability or learning needs and translate into solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex discovery and analysis, clearly defining problems, opportunities, intended outcomes and decision points.
• Gather evidence from stakeholders, customers, processes, systems, policies, data and operational experience.
• Translate agreed direction into prioritised, testable requirements and practical future-state processes and solutions.
• Identify organisational capability and learning needs and ensure these are reflected in delivery and implementation planning.
• Support initiatives through design, testing, implementation and transition, while coaching others and strengthening business analysis practice.
