Job summary

New Zealand Customs Service – Tauranga, North Island, is seeking a Senior Intelligence Analyst to lead analytical work identifying and assessing risks to New Zealand's border and to support operational decisions with high-quality intelligence products.

Based in Tauranga (with possible Auckland option), you will mentor analysts, collaborate with government partners, and contribute to capability development. A Top Secret national security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in intelligence, investigative, risk, compliance or law enforcement.
• Strong analytical skills and risk assessment frameworks.
• Experience producing intelligence reports, assessments and recommendations.
• Ability to interpret and analyse information from multiple sources for operational decisions.
• Experience with large datasets and tools such as i2 Analyst's Notebook or Nexus.
• Knowledge of information security and handling sensitive information.
• Strong relationship management across agencies and stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative approach to coach and support junior team members.
