Job summary

BDO Rotorua is seeking an experienced Senior level Business Advisory professional to join our Rotorua team. This role focuses on meaningful client work, leadership development and a clear path to Partnership within a locally owned firm.

You will work closely with clients to understand their businesses, provide practical, commercially focused advice and progressively take on greater responsibilities, including mentoring teammates and contributing to the firm’s growth.

Qualifications

• Senior level Business Advisory experience in a NZ CA firm is required.
• Strong client relationship and advisory skills.
• Ability to lead, mentor and develop team members.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate insights into action.
• Experience reviewing financial reporting and advising on governance and structuring.

What you will bring

We’re looking for someone who is technically strong but, equally importantly, enjoys working with people and wants to make a meaningful contribution to clients, the team and the wider firm.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• 5+ years’ Business Advisory Services experience within a New Zealand CA firm
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and a CA qualification or equivalent
• Strong commercial acumen and the confidence to have meaningful conversations with business owners
• Experience reviewing work and supporting or leading other team members
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and financial reporting skills
• A proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach
• An interest in continuing to develop your technical, advisory and leadership capability
