Job summary

Kernel is seeking a .NET backend engineer to design, build and operate the services powering KiwiSaver, investments, and savings on our platform. You will own features end-to-end from design to production, writing clean C# and leveraging AWS serverless services.

You will collaborate with Product and Design, working across monoliths and microservices while driving testing, observability and reliable API design in a hybrid Auckland-based environment.

Qualifications

• Commercial backend experience with production systems in C#/.NET.
• Strong knowledge of API design and distributed systems.
• Cloud-native experience in AWS and serverless architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate the backend services, APIs and integrations behind Kernel's investment platform.
• Own your work end to end, from planning and design through to production reliability.
• Write clean, functional-style C# that prioritises correctness and testability.
