Job summary

Southern Cross Health Insurance is seeking an experienced Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to design, build and maintain scalable Azure infrastructure. You will own cloud design, automation and standardisation, enabling cost-effective, resilient platforms and self-service capabilities for the engineering team.

You will collaborate across the tech organisation, mentor engineers, and help shape engineering standards while advancing our Azure-based cloud estate.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Azure cloud/infrastructure engineering experience.
• Experience designing & delivering complex cloud infrastructure solutions.
• Strong Terraform/IaC capability with reusable modules.
• Experience with Azure Landing Zones (design, not just operation).
• Automation, scripting & CI/CD experience.
• Experience across cloud security, governance, resilience & operations.
• Ability to explain technical decisions & trade-offs clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design, build & improve Azure cloud infrastructure.
• Take cloud solutions from design through to delivery.
• Build reusable Terraform/IaC modules and deployment patterns.
• Improve self-service and standardisation, reducing manual work.
• Keep platforms secure, resilient, reliable & cost-effective.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and implement lasting fixes.
• Help shape engineering standards and better ways of working.
• Mentor other engineers and share technical knowledge.
