Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Automotive Quality Inspector for a major automotive components manufacturer based in Queenstown. You will conduct thorough inspections, read technical drawings, and ensure parts meet IATF 16949 standards, collaborating with production and engineering teams.

Responsibilities include inspecting incoming materials, in-process parts, and finished components using calipers, micrometers, and CMMs, recording results, and driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of quality inspection experience in automotive manufacturing.
• Proficient reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficient with precision measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 standards.
• Relevant technical qualification or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished parts.
• Use calipers, micrometers and CMMs to verify dimensions.
• Identify non-conforming products and initiate NCRs.
• Analyze inspection data to identify root causes.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and QA to resolve issues.
• Maintain quality records and participate in internal audits.
• Mentor junior inspectors.
