Placements24 is seeking a Senior Automotive Quality Inspector for a major automotive components manufacturer based in Queenstown. You will conduct thorough inspections, read technical drawings, and ensure parts meet IATF 16949 standards, collaborating with production and engineering teams.

Responsibilities include inspecting incoming materials, in-process parts, and finished components using calipers, micrometers, and CMMs, recording results, and driving continuous improvement.

Formación

• Minimum 5 years of quality inspection experience in automotive manufacturing.
• Proficient reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficient with precision measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 standards.
• Relevant technical qualification or certification preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished automotive parts.

• Identify non-conforming products and initiate the non-conformance reporting process.
• Analyze inspection data and trends to identify root causes of quality issues.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to resolve quality problems.
• Ensure compliance with relevant automotive quality standards (e.g., IATF 16949).
• Document inspection results accurately and maintain quality records.
• Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior quality inspectors.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality inspection, preferably within the automotive manufacturing industry.
• Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
• Strong understanding of quality control methodologies and statistical process control (SPC).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 standards is required.
