Job summary

Maynard Marks is seeking an Associate Environmental Consultant in Hamilton with a strong focus on asbestos consultancy and management projects. This senior, client-facing role involves independently managing medium to large projects while mentoring less experienced consultants and supporting the growth of our Environmental Services practice in the Waikato.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of relevant asbestos consultancy or construction/environment experience.
• Qualified in an environmental-related field with Licenced Asbestos Assessor qualification.
• Strong knowledge of asbestos-related legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to manage medium to large projects and client delivery.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead asbestos management surveys and related surveys (refurbishment, demolition).
• Prepare asbestos management plans for medium to large projects.
• Develop scopes of work for asbestos removal projects.
• Undertake asbestos air monitoring and issue clearance certificates for Class A and B works.
• Act as primary client contact and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Prepare and review high-quality technical reports.
• Support business development through client relationships and proposals.
• Mentor and support other consultants and contribute to team culture.
• Undertake site visits and travel across the North Island as required.
