Job summary

AWF New Zealand is seeking an experienced Class A Asbestos Supervisor to lead removal projects in the Nelson/Tasman region. You will oversee specialist crews, ensure safety, compliance, and quality across on-site operations.

The role requires at least 2 years in a supervisor role, NZQA Class A removal and supervision qualifications, a current WorkSafe supervisor registration, and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in an Asbestos Supervisor role.
• Current Class A Asbestos Removal qualification (NZQA 29766).
• Current Supervise Asbestos Removal qualification (NZQA 29767).
• Registered WorkSafe Supervisor currently listed on a licensed asbestos removal company.
• Site Safe Passport.
• Valid First Aid Certificate.
• Full New Zealand Driver Licence.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the safe and efficient removal of friable and non-friable asbestos.
• Lead and manage asbestos removal teams on site.
• Set up and oversee complex asbestos removal enclosures.
• Monitor project schedules, resources, and site productivity.
• Conduct toolbox talks, site inspections, and risk assessments.
• Ensure full compliance with WorkSafe NZ regulations and asbestos management requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve site challenges while maintaining programme delivery.
• Complete and maintain accurate project and compliance documentation.
