Job summary
AWF New Zealand is seeking an experienced Class A Asbestos Supervisor to lead removal projects in the Nelson/Tasman region. You will oversee specialist crews, ensure safety, compliance, and quality across on-site operations.
The role requires at least 2 years in a supervisor role, NZQA Class A removal and supervision qualifications, a current WorkSafe supervisor registration, and a strong safety culture.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an Asbestos Supervisor role.
- Current Class A Asbestos Removal qualification (NZQA 29766).
- Current Supervise Asbestos Removal qualification (NZQA 29767).
- Registered WorkSafe Supervisor currently listed on a licensed asbestos removal company.
- Site Safe Passport.
- Valid First Aid Certificate.
- Full New Zealand Driver Licence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the safe and efficient removal of friable and non-friable asbestos.
- Lead and manage asbestos removal teams on site.
- Set up and oversee complex asbestos removal enclosures.
- Monitor project schedules, resources, and site productivity.
- Conduct toolbox talks, site inspections, and risk assessments.
- Ensure full compliance with WorkSafe NZ regulations and asbestos management requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve site challenges while maintaining programme delivery.
- Complete and maintain accurate project and compliance documentation.
