Job summary

Datacom is seeking an Android Developer (Contract) to own core coded business logic for the application, closely aligning with business requirements in New Zealand. The role emphasizes strong communication and collaboration within cross-functional teams.

The candidate will design, develop, test and maintain applications, ensuring performance and security while following design patterns and best practices. This is a contract engagement with opportunities for contribution across the SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain applications and integration solutions
• Develop code in a clear and maintainable way with a focus on ease of use, performance and security
• Be familiar with development frameworks and good practices
• Use established and common design patterns
• Work with the delivery team to design and deliver customer outcomes
• Work with QA team to design and run functional tests
• Work with the Business Analyst to resolve gaps or ambiguities in the functional requirements and design
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly, including participating in after-hours support when required
• Create and maintain documentation throughout the SDLC to support transparency and knowledge sharing
• Analyse recurring issues, lead continuous improvement initiatives and refine support procedures to minimise downtime
• Ensure compliance with governance standards
