**Bring your knowledge and experience of the financial sector to this role in****the Financial Stability Group.**As a Senior Analyst in Prudential Supervision, you will have direct responsibility for supervising insurers within the insurance sector, helping to strengthen the safety and resilience of New Zealand’s financial system.* Join our collaborative and supportive Banking and Insurance Supervision team within the Prudential Supervision Directorate.* Contribute to prudential supervision, risk assessment, stakeholder engagement, and analysis that informs decisions across RBNZ.* Permanent, Wellington or Auckland based role**Te tūranga – The role and your impact**As a Senior Analyst in Prudential Supervision, you’ll conduct in-depth qualitative and quantitative analysis across the insurance sector. You’ll assess prudential risk profiles, make well-formed judgements and help implement effective supervisory strategies to mitigate identified risks. You’ll prepare high-quality advice for managers, senior leaders and Reserve Bank committees, and communicate complex work clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. Working collaboratively across the Directorate and Financial Stability Group, you’ll engage with regulated entities at management, executive and board level, be involved with analytical projects, and support continuous improvement.**Ō pūkenga – About you**We’re looking for a proactive and collaborative Senior Analyst who brings sound judgement, strong analytical and research capability, and the confidence to communicate complex information clearly. To be successful in this role, you will bring:* A relevant tertiary qualification in economics, statistics, data science, finance or a related discipline.* A strong understanding of banking, insurance, financial markets, law, accounting, macroeconomics, economics or a central bank environment is preferred.* A solid understanding of New Zealand’s financial system, including the interactions between the economy, financial institutions and prudential regulation, or a strong desire to build this knowledge.* Strong analytical and research skills, including the ability to assess qualitative and quantitative information, identify prudential risks and recommend practical responses.* Experience designing data collections or undertaking policy analysis would be advantageous.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make technical information accessible to different audiences.* The proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including confidence engaging at management, executive and board level.* A proactive, resilient and collaborative approach, sound judgement, and the ability to think holistically across a broad range of issues.* Knowledge and application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and a commitment to Te Ao Māori, diversity, equity, inclusion, and a safe and healthy workplace.* Eligibility to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of New Zealand National Security Clearance, if required.**Ngā painga – What we can offer you**We have a broad range of responsibilities and great opportunities to match people across all stages of careers.
