Job summary

Reserve Bank of New Zealand is seeking a Senior Analyst in Prudential Supervision within the Financial Stability Group. The role focuses on supervising insurers, strengthening the safety and resilience of New Zealand’s financial system.

Based in Wellington or Auckland, you will conduct deep analysis, advise at senior levels, and engage with regulated entities on governance and risk.” You will collaborate across the Directorate and bring strong communication, analytical and policy analysis skills

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification in economics, statistics, data science, finance or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of banking, insurance, financial markets, law, accounting, macroeconomics, economics or a central bank environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, diversity and safe workplace practices is desired.

Responsibilities

• Supervise insurers within the insurance sector as part of Prudential Supervision.
• Conduct in-depth qualitative and quantitative analysis to assess prudential risk profiles.
• Prepare high-quality advice for managers, senior leaders and Reserve Bank committees.
• Engage with regulated entities at management, executive and board level.
• Contribute to supervisory strategies, risk assessment and continuous improvement.
