Job summary

Reserve Bank of New Zealand is seeking a Senior Analyst in Prudential Supervision to supervise insurers within the insurance sector and strengthen the safety and resilience of New Zealand’s financial system.

You will conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis, assess prudential risk profiles and help implement supervisory strategies. You’ll prepare advice for managers and committees and engage with entities at management, executive and board levels.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification in economics, statistics, data science, finance or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to assess qualitative and quantitative information and identify prudential risks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders at various levels.

Responsibilities

• Supervise insurers within the insurance sector, contributing to risk assessment and supervisory strategies.
• Conduct in-depth qualitative and quantitative analysis across the insurance sector.
• Prepare high-quality advice for managers, senior leaders and Reserve Bank committees.
• Engage with regulated entities at management, executive and board level and support continuous Directorate improvement.
