Job summary

Air New Zealand seeks an experienced Programme Manager (Delivery and Performance Specialist) on a contract basis to lead multi-team initiatives with pace and value. You will apply agile principles pragmatically, coach leaders and teams, and shape environments to improve forecasting and delivery outcomes.

You will orchestrate complex delivery across squads, operations and technology partners, managing dependencies, risks and stakeholders while embedding change and ensuring safety.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience as an Agile Programme Manager or similar across complex digital/operational transformation.
• Deep expertise in agile, lean and flow-based delivery with flexibility between agile, hybrid and traditional approaches.
• Proven ability to translate strategy into outcomes, value slices and release plans while managing risks and dependencies.

Responsibilities

• Orchestrate end-to-end delivery across complex, multi-team initiatives with alignment of scope, timing and dependencies.
• Shape objectives into customer, operational and commercial outcomes with prioritised work and release plans.
• Establish governance, cadences, reporting and decision forums with visible priorities and delivery confidence.
• Manage flow, risks, issues and dependencies; unblock progress as context changes.
• Optimize delivery systems, team interactions and operating rhythms; coordinate internal and vendor delivery.
• Use throughput, cycle time and adoption signals to improve forecasting and drive continuous improvement, including AI-enabled insights where useful.
• Coach Product Owners, Delivery Owners, teams and leaders to improve prioritisation and accountability.
• Drive change enablement through stakeholder engagement and adoption tracking to embed outcomes.
• Ensure safety and security of people, assets, systems and procedures.
