Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency in Wellington seeks a Principal Advisor, Performance and Reporting to lead oversight of the land transport regulatory system. You will deliver robust performance monitoring, produce regular reports for NZTA leadership, and support governance bodies with evidence-based insights.

The role requires senior-level advisory skills, strong stakeholder engagement, and the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for the Board and Ministers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading performance monitoring and reporting in complex environments.
• Strong systems thinking and strategic insight across regulatory or public sector contexts.
• Ability to provide strategic advice to senior leaders, Boards, and Ministers.
• Exceptional written, verbal and visual communication tailored for executive audiences.
• Experience building credible relationships across regulatory and governance networks.
