Job summary

ParkerBridge partners with a well-established accounting firm in South Auckland to recruit an Assistant Branch Lead. You will work alongside the General Manager to support clients, workflow, team capability and business performance, delivering high-quality compliance work while expanding into advisory services.

Qualifications

• Several years’ experience within a New Zealand accounting firm at the senior accounting level.
• Strong compliance accounting experience.
• Statutory accounting qualifications - desirable.
• Experience preparing and/or reviewing financial statements, GST and tax returns.
• Understanding of Business Advisory Services, or a genuine desire to develop in this area.
• Strong client relationship and communication skills.
• Experience mentoring, reviewing or supporting less experienced accountants.
• A commercially minded approach and an interest in understanding the wider needs of your clients.
• The confidence to take ownership and operate at a senior level.
• A collaborative, team-focused attitude.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and reviewing financial statements, tax returns and GST
• Managing a portfolio of diverse clients and building strong relationships
• Providing practical accounting and commercial advice
• Developing your Business Advisory Services capability
• Identifying opportunities to expand clients beyond traditional compliance services
• Supporting client meetings and relationship management
• Mentoring and guiding junior and intermediate accountants
• Supporting workflow, deadlines and branch operations
• Contributing to business growth and client retention
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiency
• Working collaboratively with the wider accounting team
