Job summary

Kahu Security is seeking a Security Technician to install, configure, and test CCTV, access control and intruder alarm systems at client sites in the Wellington region. The role involves ongoing maintenance, fault diagnosis, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

You will liaise with sales and project teams to coordinate installations and service requirements, while delivering high-quality security solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Security Technician or similar role (from the ad).
• Technical knowledge of installation, maintenance and repair of security systems.

As a Security Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of a variety of security systems, including CCTV, access control, intruder alarms and other electronic security equipment. Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and test security systems and equipment at client sites
• Conduct regular maintenance and inspections of security systems to ensure optimal performance
• Troubleshoot and repair any faults or issues with security equipment
• Provide technical support and advice to clients on the operation of their security systems
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of all work undertaken
• Liaise with the sales and project management teams to coordinate installation schedules and service requirements
• Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards and in compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices

About you

• Proven experience as a Security Technician or similar role.
• Technical knowledge and competence in the installation, maintenance and repair of security systems, including CCTV, access control and intruder alarms
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve issues
• Good communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical information in a clear and concise manner
• Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, including on-call duties, as required
• A valid driver's licence and the ability to travel to client sites as needed
