Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora – Whangārei, North Island, is advertising two permanent part-time Physiotherapist positions (0.4 FTE, 16 hours per week) within the Acute Inpatient and Outpatient Physiotherapy Services.

You will provide clinical and operational leadership, support workforce development, uphold high standards of patient care, and contribute to service planning in line with Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Qualifications

  • Registration with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand and a current APC.
  • At least 5 years experience as a physiotherapist.
  • Ability to work autonomously and harmoniously with other health professionals.
  • Use data, feedback, and evidence-informed practice to support decision-making, quality improvement, and service planning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and operational leadership for the Inpatient or Outpatient Physiotherapy Service.
  • Support workforce development and uphold high standards of patient care.
  • Drive continuous quality improvement and contribute to service planning aligned with organisational goals and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

About the Role

As a Section Head Physiotherapist (Inpatient or Outpatient), you will providing clinical and operational leadership, supporting workforce development, ensuring high standards of patient care, driving continuous quality improvement, and contributing to the effective delivery of physiotherapy services aligned with organisational goals and Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles. You will manage the Inpatient or Outpatient Physiotherapy Service, demonstrate expert clinical practice and support the Physiotherapy Team Lead.

About you

  • Registration with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand and a current APC
  • At least 5 years experience as a physiotherapist

  • Clear, concise recording and reporting
  • Use data, feedback, and evidence-informed practice to support decision-making, quality improvement, and service planning.

Whilst not essential, candidates that demonstrate experience in clinical leadership, staff supervision, and performance development are desired.
