Job summary

Green by Nature in Queenstown is seeking a Weed Eater Operator for a seasonal 3-month role Oct to end of Dec 2026, with a possible extension. The role runs from the Frankton depot but covers Queenstown Lakes District. You will weed eat, edge, support the mowing team, and help keep parks in top condition; drug test may be required.

Do you have a great work ethic, enjoy getting stuck in, and hold a full driver’s licence?

This role will be based out of the Frankton depot however the role will take place across the Queenstown Lakes District. The job will be primarily weed eating alongside a mower operator.

If so this is the perfect short-term position for you! We're looking for an energetic individual to help keep Queenstown’s parks and reserves in top condition by taking on important vegetation control tasks.

What's does a Weed Eater Operator do you ask?

As a Weed Eater Operator, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the Mowing team by helping to keep vegetation under control during the busy growing season. You’ll focus on weed-eating and edging, ensuring our parks look their best, and occasionally join the wider crew to assist with other tasks across our green spaces.

Who we are looking for

We’re on the lookout for people with a strong desire to do a job well. Experience using small plant equipment is a bonus, but if you’re eager to learn, that’s good enough for us! You’ll also need:

• A full driver’s licence (manual driving experience required)
• Energy, self-motivation, and a can-do attitude
• Good physical fitness - this is a hands-on, physically demanding role
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
