Job summary

Livestock Improvement Corporation (LIC) is hiring Laboratory Technicians for a 6-month seasonal role at our Riverlea Road site in Hamilton, NZ. The positions are full-time (40 hours/week), running from November to April, reporting to the Animal Health Team Leader. We value individuals with commercial lab experience, strong collaboration, and excellent communication.

PCR/ELISA experience is advantageous. This role focuses on sample preparation, testing, and ensuring ISO 17025 quality standards

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial laboratory is preferred.
• Flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks and work collaboratively.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Confidence around computers and software interfaces.
• Motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ideally experience with PCR or ELISA testing.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of a range of bovine and caprine samples for testing.
• Reporting on test results.
• Implementation and maintenance of ISO 17025 quality standards.
