Job summary

Alphatech Systems is seeking a Customer Services Representative in Auckland to combine scientific knowledge with customer interaction. You will support sales and service teams, provide expert product advice, and handle order processing while maintaining databases and coordinating promotions.

The role includes on-site work with a focus on accuracy, teamwork and ongoing learning of new scientific products and technologies. Applicants must be resident in New Zealand.

Qualifications

• BSc or equivalent in microbiology, biochemistry, cell biology, or similar.
• Experience in laboratory, technical customer service, or science sales/marketing.
• Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in ERP, MS Word, Outlook and Excel; familiarity with desktop publishing and social media.
• Strong attention to accuracy, organization and time management.
• Team-oriented with a proactive, eager-to-learn attitude; interest in new scientific products.
• Background in electrochemistry or chromatography is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide front-line rapid response to customer inquiries, upselling, and order processing/tracking.
• Offer expert advice on allocated product lines suited to your technical background.
• Support sales reps with product info, quotes, follow-ups, tender coordination & assistance.
• Support service & logistics teams: database management, service bookings, warehousing backup.
• Create regular, professional electronic promotions and distribute/follow up.
• Maintain customer and supplier databases and utilize CRM.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing front-line rapid response to customer inquiries, upselling, and processing & tracking of orders.
• Providing expert advice on allocated product lines most suited to your technical background
• Supporting the activities of sales reps [e.g. preparing product info & quotes, quote follow ups, tender co-ordination & assistance]
• Supporting the activities of the service & logistics teams [e.g. database management, service bookings; along with providing back-up support to our warehousing function]
• Creating regular, professional electronic promotions, distributing them and following up
• Maintaining customer and supplier databases, and utilizing our CRM

To be successful in the role you will need:

• A BSc in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology or a similar scientific qualification
• Previous experience in the laboratory, technical customer service, or sales & marketing within the science sector
• Excellent English language, communication & interpersonal skills
• To be computer savvy with ERP, MS Word, Outlook and Excel experience as well as a working knowledge of desktop publishing and social media platforms
• Exceptional attention to accuracy and detail along with great organizational ability & time management skills
• A real team-player approach, a friendly and positive ‘can do’ attitude and a genuine thirst to continually learn new scientific products and technologies

A background in electrochemistry and/or chromatography would be advantageous but is not essential
